Palo Alto's 'No on D' campaign wins by nearly 2000 votes
The spirit of Palo Alto lives here in this last remaining orchard. Stop the destruction of our heritage. VOTE AGAINST MEASURE D
All trhee local papers endorsed Vote Against D
Palo Alto City Council approved special zoning to build a four story, 50 foot high, 60 unit apartment building on the orchard located at Maybell and Clemo Avenues.
The Maybell neighborhood’s struggle against a well-funded developer brings back memories of exactly ten years ago when many neighborhood residents worked to referend the 800 High Street ‘planned community’ (PC).
One has to wonder how some people who seem so committed to one point of view, suddenly appear to move to the other side of the argument.
Sixty apartments with only 35 parking spaces and very limited nearby amenities
Stop the 'stack and pack' projects
Hundreds of children use Maybell Avenue every day as their bike route to four area schools.
No more 'in your face' and 'up to the street' developments
City Council actions precluded an impartial hearing of residents opinions.
